Bangladesh-Germany economic relations

The parliamentary committee has recommended strengthening economic relations between Bangladesh and Germany.

The recommendation was made at the 14th meeting of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Eleventh National Parliament held at the Sangsad Bhaban on Sunday (August 23).

The meeting has presided over Committee Chairman Muhammad Faruk Khan.

Minister in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs AK Abdul Momen, Nurul Islam Nahid, Golam Farooq Khandker Prince, Md. Abdul Majid Khan, Md. Habibe Millat, Nahim Razzak, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, and Nizam Uddin Jalil (Jhon) attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, prayers were offered for salvation to the souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib and his family members assassinated on August 15, 1975, those who were martyred in the 1971 Liberation War and those who died of coronavirus.

The meeting also discusses in detail the work plans and activities of newly appointed ambassadors to the Bangladeshi missions and details and information of the casualties of expatriate Bangladeshis in the recent explosion in Beirut, Lebanon.

The meeting also recommended to involve German investors in the country’s development activities and to arrange workshops/seminars from time to time to increase communication at the political level to stop various propaganda about Bangladesh.
